Guidelines in the participation of PASCN members to the Annual APEC Study Centers Consortium (ASCC)
Following the APEC protocol, members of the PASCN who are invited or who wish to attend the Annual ASC Consortium Conference should finance for their own trip. However, subject to the availability of funds, the PASCN will sponsor the participation of the member/s if the following criteria are all met:
- The invited person is a paper presentor or is a discussant during the conference. Priority should be given, however, to a paper presentor,
- Failure to secure adequate funding support from his/her own institution or from other organizations. The PASCN Secretariat should be furnished a copy of the letter from prospective sponsor/s indicating the level of funding available has been turned down.
- Approval by the Steering Committee. In case there are more than one applicant for funding support and the budget would only allow for one, prioritization should be made by the Steering Committee. The financial support should cover any or all of the following: (i) Roundtrip airfare (economy class), including tax (ii) Hotel accommodation during the official period of the travel (iii) Daily allowance during the official period of the travel Rates for items (ii) and (iii) should follow the prescribed rates for official foreign travel under Executive Order No. 248.
The participation of the Lead Convenor or the Project Director of the Secretariat or any members who will be chosen as the PASCN official representative in the Annual ASC Business Meeting, should be sponsored by the PASCN.
